geoDefense FAQs

- I updated geoDefense and now it won't install, what do I do?
This was caused by a problem with Apple's packaging of an update, which they since corrected. The solution is to delete the application from your device (and iTunes) and repurchase it. Don't worry, you will not be charged twice!
- How do I get past level ______ ?
geoDefense levels can sometimes be frustrating if you haven't got a bead on how to solve them. There is definitely more than one way to win each level, and all are guaranteed to be beatable. If you get stuck, move on to another level. geoDefense does not have any 'locked' levels, and they do not progress linearly in difficulty (some later levels might be easier for you) but each level will give you skills that you can use to beat the levels that are bedeviling you.
- How do I get Laser Towers to face the way I want?
Once you upgrade a Laser Tower past Level 2, you can double-tap it to lock/unlock its facing. And a level 7 Laser Tower will automatically fire in the direction that hits the most creeps. - Why do missles sometimes just fly off the screen?
Upgrade your Laser Towers! At level 4 the missles will reacquire new targets if the original is destroyed.
- Why don't Towers priortize what creep they shoot at better?
Towers start off shooting only at the closest enemy, but you can make them smarter! The Blaster and Missile Towers will target the creep (within range) cloesest to the exist once upgraded to level 7. And the Laser Tower, once upgraded to level 7 will automatically fire in the direction that hits the most creeps (given its targeting range). Plus you can use the locking feature (see above) on laser towers as level 2 for more fine-grained control.
- What does a Vortex Tower do?
These unique towers are very powerful, and multi-functional. For a good explaination, see the movie on this.
- What are the x1, x5, x10 things that show up?
These increase your bonus multiplier. Here is how that works: Each creep you kill is worth 1 point times your current multiplier. The multiplier is shown in the center top fo the screen. Your multiplier goes up by 1 for each creep you kill normally, but if you kill a creep near the exit it will go up more. So if you see x5, then that means your bonus multiplier just went up by 5. So the next kill is worth 5 times as much as before in points. Killing a creep really near the exit, like at the last possible moment, is worth a big multiplier bonus. So this might cause you to change your strategy in tower placement once you are keen on getting a really high score.
