I've loving GDS but I'm having a hard time beating The Road Not Taken.  Anybody have a screenshot on ideas on how to beat it.  Thanks.

Well, it seems at first

Well, it seems at first glance that the best strategy would be to make the creeps take the longest possible route and walk the screen in kind of a Z-shape. But I found that I had to waste too many towers to block paths. So I let them gp downwards, and I don't remember exactly what I did, but I didn't use a whole lotta green towers. Maybe one or two. I went for lasers and missile towers and upgraded them. It worked fine.

I'm currently at "Y me?", having massive trouble.

  !!!!! SPOILER BELOW

!!!!! SPOILER BELOW !!!!!

I used a little different strat and took advantage of creating a long straight away on the right in conjunction with a high powered laser tower. Missiles are key and blasters are almost worthless. The think the below is also good at demonstrating effective thump tower placement -- a hot topic in a few other threads. With better timing with this set up I would've beat the level without letting a single creep through. Good luck!!

Great Road Not Taken Strategy

Of all the play testing we did, that's gotta be the most efficient use of towers on thatl level.  I usually used more thumps and lasers and less missles.  Nice job!

How about this then.  I did

How about this then.  I did leak a few, but that could probably be avoided with the same setup.

Nice.  I like that.  I played

Nice.  I like that.  I played with multiple lasers at first, but the upgrades were so expensive I decided to try to see if I could keep it at one laser.

Good solve!

Here is an even more

Ok, I doubt it can get a whole lot better than this, 6 towers, no tower sold:

Just when I was starting to think level 7 missiles might be useful for once, this was easier once I stopped trying to use them.  I actually witnessed level 7 missiles head directly at a line of creeps, pass between two of them and keep flying around for a couple more loops before they tried to hit the creeps.  The high speed attack of the level 6 towers in that snake section on the right owns this level.

The laser tower in the corner

The laser tower in the corner really rocks! Actually this is a great demo of how few towers could get the job done.

it took me a bunch of times,

it took me a bunch of times, but yes make them go around and around in circles, near the + box just put a bunch of lasers and keep upgrading them, the problem is there are sooooo many creeps on level 20 of that round, i just finished it and forgot to save a screen cap.

wish there was a way to reload you screens.  i'd like to see how some of these people score 10 more than i have scored!
