After I pause GD Swarm, and then exit to the home screen, when I start GD Swarm again it exits and I get the home screen again. When I run GD Swarm again it brings me to the main gd swarm menu screen. It doesn't happen all the time. It will often happen a couple waves in on Down the Chute.
(Great game!)
You should follow me on twitter here!
I had a similar problem -- no crash to the home screen, but after exiting a game to text and coming back, I found my game had not saved and GDS defaulted to the home screen, not my previous game. I think it was on Easy: Line Up.
I can confirm this bug. I was at Quantum Tunneling, between two waves. I saved, quit the app, restarted the app and the game crashed while saying this Warning message. I the restarted the game again and my game was lost.
Edit: Now I lost my saved game on l10 easy. I will delay my review of this game for taptoplay.de due to this, because I'd like to give a high rating, but with these bugs I cannot go higher than 3/5.
Which devices do you use? I'm on an iPhone 2G 16GB with 3.1. Maybe it's only related to these older devices?
I'm on an 8gb 3G. David tweeed yesterday that the save state bug was caused by thump towers and that he's working on it. I seem to remember this happening regardless of whether or not I'm using thump towers, though. I'll have to keep an eye out, though, to see whether or not it is actually happening with no thump towers in play.
Great! Seems that I missed his Tweet. Hopefully Apple is a bit faster with the approval…
Ok -- I figured why I thought I was having the same problem even when not using thump towers.
1) Open GDS & start a game
2) Pause
3) Click the home button on your iPhone and do what you need to do
4) Open GDS (but do not resume game)
5) Click home button again
6) Reopen GDS -- your game will be gone & it will default to the main menu
Obviously the easy user-end workaround is to just resume the game before leaving again. But, I thought I'd throw it out there. If there's an easy fix, why not fix it, right? It would happen to me often when I would pause to text, go back to game, and before resuming have another text pop up. I would tap reply, and come back to find my game is gone.
So . . . I'm glad I figured out how it was happening . . . much to my chagrin I figured it out over 100 waves into an epic unlimated creep run
