requirements/wishes for an update

Swarm looks great it is fun playing it.

Enclosed some wishes for the next update:

  • it is difficult to see how many lives/health are still availlable in the top. if would be great if you could show the numbers of live at the exit field. if you have more exit fields, show in every exit field the number. it looks like yet "oh, i have to show the lives somewhere? Ok, I put a text to the top"
  • show where the wave will exit, if you have several exits, i understand that the waves are using always a defined exit
  • the amount of $ is in the playing field, sometimes difficult to read if you placed a tower to this area, maybe you could put it to the left down corner. additional if you mark a tower, the $ total changes the location, this is irritating.
  • add "," to the scores
  • mark the fields, where you get more than 1x multiplier in different colors (same wish for geodefense path). Have no idea how, but it would be nice to see, maybe different colors for different multipliers
  • "thumb tower", I haven't found a description for all towers in the app, add global help screen with all towers and the special skills, if they have some. good for newbies to have this on a page and not at the start of different levels, could i found somewhere a list, how much power has a lvl 2 blaster tower to see, if lvl 2 is better than 2x lvl1?
  • multiplayer: if you killed your wave before the other, a new wave or only some creeps will be added to the other person. player has to think about, kill fast and add some creeps to the other or wait and get more points because of multipliers. waves are not synchronized, game ends who gets more points or someone give up. for swarm: if you kill a wave, some/one healing fields (or other fields are added to the others players screen)

so,  back to playing, the difficulty is perfect.

Tower descriptions

I think the towers are different in each level, so they never quite do the same amount of damage on each level.

My wishes

Just bought this game because of the review at IGN.com

(8'2 , with nice feedback there)... and it totally convinced after minutes playing .

Also bought the first GeoDefense, and i'm not dissapointed

 

But there are some wishes for an upgrade....

 

- Being able to turn of the "iluminating screen"  when you drag a tower or a finger too fast on the screen. It is annoying for me, and hinders my ability to play because i see screen flashing :(

- Putting a confirmation button for exploding vortex towers . Now, the button when you have one vortex tower selected is TOO CLOSE to upgrade one.

- Putting a reset links button (or any other method) for reseting linking towers with vortex towers.

- Making clear at options if  you have selected either HARDCORE or NEWBIE MODE.

Really, i can't tell !!!! i see the button, but I can't tell if i'm at hard mode or hardcore.

- Making a "SAVE AND EXIT" button on pause menu.

 

 

Also, a big , big , big, big wish.

- introducing USER GENERATED LEVELS via OpenFeint/web/updates

How much space does a map take? I think (my bet) that it's about ...  30 K? 200 K at most .

How difficult could it be to make a server that stores user generated levels , and you can download them on iphone/touch and play it?

JUST THINK of you receiveng a message via Openfeint " you've been challenged to pass this NEW USERMADE level".

 

Of course, there are some minor things to point out :

- Maybe the level editor should not be on the iphone/ipod game, it should run on a computer (for example, on this web as a flash or java applet). You paint tiles, you select waves of monsters (types, aprox numbers) and it calculates how difficult would be, or gives you proper money and lives

- Maybe the levels need member's aproval or admin aproval. This would allow levels to be correctly tagged (difficulty), and avoid too much similar levels, and offensive lever layout (think of a svastika map, uhhhh). Also, this would not saturate server with leaderboard for each map that gets done...

- Maybe those maps should be in an update, though, and not using openfeint. Not a webprogrammer, so i can't tell if it would be difficult or not.

 

 

 

Oh, and by the way....

The "user generated levels" .... would also be awesome for Geodefense (the first one).

  keep in mind you can double

 

keep in mind you can double tap a vortex tower to pop it. I think a confirm button could hinder last ditch vortex popping -- which is what I often use them for :)

it would be nice if you could

it would be nice if you could somehow get back a tower you poped... it was a useful strategy in GD. Pop a tower quickly add it back and link it up to get ready for the next wave.

upgrade and cash in icon should not be right next to each other

happened to me a few times, shit got crazy, whent to tap upgrade icon and my finger was just a little too far to the right, ended up tapping cash in/destroy tower icon instead. OUCH
