As of this moment, geoDefense Swarm remains in Apple Review. It has been so since August 5th. Just shy of 4 weeks I got a rejection from Apple... I had used a keyword that violated their policy (my bad). I fixed it immediately and resubmitted.
Many people ask... does this mean it goes to the back of the line? Another 3 or 4 weeks? Honestly, no one really knows how Apple works internally. I have heard that if you reply to the email and tell them you fixed what they wanted, it goes through faster. Maybe that's just myth, but I did send the reply and they acknowledged.
So... what now? Just wait, I suppose. Sooner or later it will pop out of the oven!

Thanks for the forum!! This ought to be a great help when I'm bashing my phone into my head on an especially difficult swarm level! So lame on the keyword thing . . . Let's hope it gets through soon. I still search the app store in anticipation a few times a day . . . LOL.
Love the game, quite the time killer during lunch at the office... It's funny to hear people exchanging strategies, taking iPhone screenshots to show how they completed a level.
Out of curiosity, what was the banned keyword?
I think he said something on his twitter about fieldrunners. He might of been using it as an example but i think he included similar TD apps as keywords.
Yep, I used fieldrunners as a keyword. It was my fault. Live and learn.
But frankly, I looked at as a service. Say you enjoyed fieldrunners and wanted to play a game like it... but were not versed in "tower defense" as a term. Right? Same goes for geoDefense... if someone used that as a keyword for their TD game I wouldn't mind.
But I can also see the other side of the issue, and I'm fine with that.

It is not currently fair because some apps are searchable only on keywords, while others are still searchable on the Description field, which is a HUGE marketing advantage for them at the moment.
As a developer myself, I agree with David's point of view. I don't see anything wrong with using bejeweled or fieldrunners as a keyword, but if that is what Apple wants to do, then fine. I just want everyone to be equal in that respect.
it was worse than i thought :-)
geoDefense is now listed twice on UK app store for some reason. Same thing for lite version. Could this be a sign of Swarm's imminent appearance? Certainly hope so!
I doubt it... I think it's because I just adjusted the categories on both.
I think you ment "just shy of for weeks". Four months would be a while. I'm hoping GDS comes out soon!
Right, 4 weeks. (blush)
In response to your tweet: today is the 30-day mark by my tally. I haven't stopped counting :D

What the hell is up with the app store review cue. Does it really take 1-2 weeks to re-review an app with a keyword error?
No idea what's going on. (sigh)
